About This product

GORE-TEX winter gloves with PrimaLoft® Gold insulation and hard knuckle protection

For all you year-round commuters, the Livengood GTX gloves are the gloves you have been waiting for.

The incorporated GORE-TEX® with GORE Grip Technology means that the waterproof membrane is directly laminated to the inside of the outer-shell, which significantly reduces water pick-up so the gloves stay dry and lightweight all the time. It also means that the layers of the grip technology are bonded tightly together, so there’s no movement between them, allowing you to grip your handlebars or use your zipper with ease.

Like all top-model gloves we bring to market, the Livengood GTX gloves have been equipped with the single-motion closure system, enabling you to secure the other glove without the usual hassle.

Lining

GORE-TEX Push-Pull tri-fleece liner
This glove lining not only provides extra warmth without adding any bulk, the lining actively wicks ('pulls') moisture away from the hands and 'pushes' it to the outer layer of the glove to prevent hands from getting damp and thus cold.

Features

Connect Finger Tip
Never take off your gloves again to answer your phone or navigation system. The connect fingertip has been specifically designed to operate touch screens.

Visor wiper
The material used on the index finger of the glove has a visor wipe function. It helps clear water or moisture off the visor for better visibility when riding in wet weather.

Waterproofing

GORE-TEX gloves + Gore grip technology
GORE-TEX gloves liners are durably waterproof, windproof, and highly breathable. The Gore grip technology uses an innovative layer construction by which they provide better dexterity and tactility for optimum performance.

Insulation

High loft fur liner
This type of insulation mimics the natural insulation properties of animal fur, a high loft construction; containing more air then fibre; it is a type of natural insulation that traps in the heat.

PrimaLoft® Gold
PrimaLoft® Gold is a thin yet exceptionally warm, top-quality insulation. Its ultra-lightweight and packable properties allow for exceptional breathability, but all for moisture to escape; keeping the body warm in the cold and cool in the heat.

Protection

Little finger knuckle
Protection at finger

SEESOFT™ knuckle
The knuckle protector is made of impact absorbing SEESOFT™ memory foam, and has been incorporated in this garment to effectively reduce the energy of impact transmitted in a crash.

SEESOFT™ at palm

Outer shell material

Flock PU
Flocking is the process of adhering small fibre particles (called flock) onto a surface. This process creates a texture that picks up water.

Goatskin with WR finish
Tanned leather made from goatskin is considered extremely durable, and is often used for gloves and other products that require a soft hide. Goatskin with a WR finish has undergone a process that makes it water-repellent and soil-resistant. The WR coating is bonded to the fabric at the molecular level, enhancing the material's natural water-repellence and soil-resistance, without altering how the fabric looks, feels, or breathes.

Layers separate

Good-looking, warm in cold weather (I commute to work on my bike year round and often ride during the coldest time of the day i.e. shortly before the dawn). On the loose side compared to my summer REV'IT leather gloves.
After just a couple of months of using the gloves (they never got wet, apart from the light drizzle once or twice) the inner-most layer (Thinsulate) started separating from the middle layer of the glove (Goretex). The layers seem to be bonded together at the fingertips using some kind of glue. After a while the whole inner glove came out, inside out, was tangling up while trying to put the gloves on and I decided cut it out entirely. Some thing happened to both gloves.
The Goretex layer (middle) seems to be attached to the leather (outer) layer much better - only on one glove the small finger has separated and gets pulled in when I take off the glove. It always takes a while to untangle it while putting the glove back on, but luckily it is only one finger and it looks like there has been no further deterioration.
I would still like to give rev'it another chance, just not this particular model. For now, until the Goretex holds up - I'll keep these.
